    Hospicare of Tompkins County

Our services have been expanded to include Hospicecare of Tompkins County, the first certified residence in New York State, and we now serve both Cayuga Medical Center and Hospicare of Tompkins County

"Small Comforts has established a loan closet called the "Comfort Closet Project" at Hospicare and Palliative Care Services which allows us to lend items to our patients which enhance the quality of their lives. At the present time these include electric hydraulic lift chairs, eight 19 inch TV/DVD combo units, window air conditioners and electric fans. These are not items that are included in the usual hospice package of supplies, thanks to Small Comforts we are able to offer something more that definitely impacts the comfort and pleasure of people coping with advanced illness. We are honored that the Small Comforts Foundation has entrusted Hospicare as the recipient of this wonderful and ongoing gift."
Nina Miller, Director
Hospicare of Tompkins County

Items available from the Comfort Closet can be used by patients at the residence or moved into patients homes.  Both the comfort and the independence that items from the Comfort Closet offer go a long way toward helping raise the morale of people living with chronic illness.
