period requests and was able to approve a majority of
requests submitted.
February 2007 - The Ithaca Journal published an
article describing the history of Small
Comforts and the details of how the Grant Programs Work.
January 2007 - The third round of grant requests is
opened for submissions of requests that meet the
established guidelines.
Each request requires an
application
and a
physician's note.
The first two rounds of grants resulted in requests for many
morale building items, and the committee evaluated them
based on the value to the quality of the individual's
life, the lack of availability of alternate funding, and
finally cost against limited resources. We were
delighted to find community vendors receptive to
assisting in obtaining items as we implemented grant
requests. The deadline for this round of grants is
May 15, 2007.
June
2006 - The first round of grant requests was considered
and all available funds expended for a number of items
to increase the comfort and improve the morale of a
number of community members whose lives are enhanced by
these items. Our next round of grants will open
for requests on September 1, 2006.
